Yes even small pieces of property can be very valuable in protecting biodiversity. At the 10 Hectare Thickson’s Woods Reserve which is surrounded by industry over 1000 species of moths have been be discovered including several new to Canada. This was very surprising to the expert entomologists who were doing the survey. Several very rare mammals have also been found in the Reserve. It is good to see that others are as active in protecting small areas as the TW Land Trust have been.
