In 2015, Lakehead University established the Ontario Master Naturalist Program in partnership with Ontario Nature.
The first of its kind in Canada, the program provides naturalists, and those interested in nature and environmental stewardship, the opportunity to receive a Master Naturalist Certificate.

The program was designed and is managed by a steering committee under the direction of Bob Bowles. You can find further information on the website.
