Ontario Nature’s 2023 Annual Gathering and 92nd AGM
June 9th – 11th, 2023

Join us at Collège Boréal in Sudbury for a weekend filled with expert-led workshops, lectures, field trips, and opportunities to connect with old friends and meet new ones.

Program and Schedule of Activities

Please review the program-at-a-glance for the entire weekend.

Nature workshops will occur in the morning and afternoon on Saturday, June 10th, so you will have the opportunity to participate in two workshops. The morning session runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the afternoon session runs from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Field trips run on Sunday, June 11th from 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Participants will be picked up and dropped off at Collège Boréal.

Keynote speakers will occur on Saturday, June 10th at 8:30 a.m. and at 8 p.m. at Collège Boréal.

Accommodations at Collège Boréal

We have pre-booked all accommodations in the residence at Collège Boréal in Sudbury. Accommodations are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be sure to book early.

When you register, you can book an accommodation package or a non-accommodation package (see further details in registration section below).

The cut-off date for booking is April 24th, 2023.

Room Details

Rooms are booked as a suite and include two individual bedrooms that can be shared with another guest. If you are looking to share a suite with a friend or partner, please purchase the double occupancy package in one transaction. Each suite includes:

  • 2 private bedrooms with a double bed in each
  • A kitchen with a full fridge
  • A bathroom with a shower

You can choose between single occupancy (1 person has the entire 2-bedroom suite) or double occupancy (2 people have the entire 2-bedroom suite) for your room. Registration for both single and double occupancy will give you private access to your suite.

Collège Boréal residence is in a wooded and calm environment, on the south side of the campus. The building is a short walk from the cafeteria and other services as well as the walking path.

Transportation

  • Visit Ontario Northland to find the bus schedule that suits your travel plans.

  • Friday evening transportation between Collège Boréal and Dynamic Earth is included for those who purchased the Full Weekend Package.
  • Free parking is available at Collège Boréal for all guests staying at the residence and participants of the event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What COVID-19 precautions are in place for the event?
A: Please review Ontario Nature’s COVID-19 Precautions for Events for more details on the prevention measures we will take in advance of and during the event. The Annual Gathering will be held in compliance with Public Health Sudbury & Districts’ COVID-19 measures at the time of the event. Ontario Nature will confirm these measures with all registrants closer to the event date.

Q: Do I need to contact Collège Boréal to book accommodations, or will Ontario Nature do this on my behalf?
A: Ontario Nature has booked a block of rooms at Collège Boréal. If you have registered for one of our accommodation packages, Ontario Nature will assign you to a room.

Q: Do I need to stay at the Collège Boréal residence, or can I book my own accommodations?
A: You can book your own accommodations anywhere you would like. Be sure to choose a non-accommodation package when booking.

Q: Do I need to be a member to attend the Annual General Meeting on Saturday, June 10th at 2:45 p.m.?
A: Both Ontario Nature members and non-members are welcome to join this meeting, however only Ontario Nature members are allowed to vote at the meeting. If you are interested in becoming a member of Ontario Nature, please visit our membership webpage, or call 1-800-440-2366 ext. 248. Our Membership Coordinator, Hayley Raymond, would be happy to assist you.

Q: I would only like to attend the Annual General Meeting. Can I register for only this part of the weekend?
A:Yes, you can register for only this part of the weekend. Please email Lisa Martell at lisam@ontarionature.org or call at 1-800-440-2366 ext. 271.
