Good morning, I live beside a lake that has a public beach and it has been discovered that their are 2 invasive species in this lake Robertson Lake in Lavant, it has fresh water jellyfish and milfoil. How do you prevent public boaters, kayakers and canoer’s from spreading it to other lakes. Mississippi Conservation was not even aware of the Fresh Water Jellyfish. Who do we contact with help for this. Its going to get spread to other local lakes with the local kayak clubs moving around to the different lakes.
Hi Leona,
Thank you very much for letting us know.
It may be helpful in this case if you were to also report the observations on EDDMapS (https://www.eddmaps.org/) and check out the Invasive Species Centre (https://www.invasivespeciescentre.ca/) for resources and possible support on this issue.
Genuine thanks and kind regards,
Noah C
