Ontario Rally and Vigil for Endangered Species

May 28 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Join us to stand up for species-at-risk and our shared natural ecosystems! We will take over Queen’s Park to speak for the animals, plants and fungi the Ford government seems to think are expendable.
Bring your flora, fauna and fungi art, costumes, signs and lets make sure this government knows: species at risk are not red tape, habitats are not for sale and First Nations’ rights are not optional.
The Ford government’s latest attempted land-grab–Bill 5– proposes to repeal Ontario’s Endangered Species Act and utterly abandon the province’s commitment to protecting wildlife and their habitats, sacrificing them on the alter of corporate profits and hand-outs to big developers, all in the middle of a biodiversity crisis.
Bill 5 also proposes to give unprecedented, undemocratic amd unconstitutional powers to the provincial government through the designation of “Special Economic Zones” which would be above the law, trampling on Indigenous Rights and community consultation
