Starry Nights with Saw-whets

October 1 @ 8:00 am - October 31 @ 5:00 pm

One of three signature events, PEPtBO’s Starry Nights with Saw-whets, focuses on PEPtBO’s nighttime migration monitoring and research centred around the Northern Saw-whet Owl, one of North America’s most frequently banded owl species. They capture the imagination of experienced and novice birders alike.

Northern Saw-whet Owls migrate at night, so PEPtBO’s banding program begins each evening at dusk and runs for six hours. Throughout the fall, PEPtBO hosts several owl-viewing nights, providing participants with a unique opportunity to witness the banding of these captivating wild birds up close. Each night includes an informative presentation from our experienced team.
