OLTA Annual Gathering Call for Proposals

May 1 @ 8:30 am - 9:00 am

OLTA’s Gathering this year will be held on October 28-30, 2024 at Isaiah Tubbs Resort in Prince Edward County, on the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat, Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples, and near Kenhté:ke – Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. OLTA’s Annual Gathering is a meeting for Ontario land trusts and others who care for — and depend upon — Ontario’s lands and waters. The Gathering is an opportunity for sharing experiences and learning from others.

We are currently looking for your ideas and proposals, as we develop the program for the Gathering. We are especially interested in your stories, successes and learnings to share with our community.

  • Did you complete a new engagement or research project; work on board governance; begin a new funding and fundraising initiative, complete a project or grow a partnership you are particularly proud of?
  • How did you advance Indigenous-led conservation efforts?
  • What approaches have you taken to be more inclusive in your work?
  • What learnings do you think need to be more visible within the land trust community?
  • What would you like to see more of at our Annual Gathering?

We’d like to hear from you.

We encourage content from all voices and perspectives, and topics that are important to you.

Please submit your topic suggestions or proposals to admin@olta.ca by 9am May 1st. The initial proposal form is here.

Sessions will generally be 40 minutes with 15 minutes for questions. Sessions can be presentation, panel or interactive format.

We are looking forward to hearing your ideas!
