Ontario Nature and rare Charitable Research Reserve hosted a day on the Grand River for Ontario Nature’s 84th Annual Gathering on May 23, 2015. Attendees explored diverse habitats – including alvar, cliff, wetland and woodland – found on the 900+ acre reserve, met the researchers who study ecology on the reserve and served as citizen scientists.
The day kicked off with an early morning bird banding demonstration, followed by a special presentation by Grant Linney: The Hero’s Journey to Sustainability. Local scientists, naturalists and researchers then led guided hikes and tours.
Ontario Nature’s celebrated conservation successes and shared our vision for the year ahead at the Annual General Meeting. Finally, Ontario Nature’s Conservation Awards ceremony recognized outstanding leaders in conservation for the past year.
