Ontario Nature celebrates 85 years of protecting wild species and spaces

South Bruce Peninsula, June 3-5, 2016 – Join Ontario Nature and more than 150 participants for a weekend getaway at Little Red Bay along the Bruce Peninsula to celebrate Ontario Nature’s 85th Annual Gathering.

Celebrations will kick-off on Friday, June 3 with dinner and the Great Ontario Natural History Quiz. Participants will join nature workshop sessions on Saturday and then explore local ecological treasures on Sunday –  with field trips to Ontario Nature’s Petrel Point, Bruce Alvar and Malcolm Bluff Shores nature reserves.

Two keynote speakers will share insight on trending environmental topics on Saturday, June 4. Ellen Schwartzel, Deputy Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, will present on Ontario’s Environmental Bill of Rights: A Toolkit for Change and Dr. Laurence Packer of York University will speak about The Importance of Bees: Ecology, Behaviour and Conservation.

Photo and video opportunities will be available throughout the weekend.
