Prince Edward County, Ontario, June 1– 3, 2018 – Join Ontario Nature for our 87th Annual Gathering with a summer getaway to the beautiful shores of Prince Edward County. The event, A Weekend in the County, will highlight the region’s rich environment, which is home to a unique diversity of rare plants and animals.
Saturday will feature expert-led nature workshops highlighting the county’s unique ecology and rare ecosystems. On Sunday, participants will discover more of Prince Edward County’s natural treasures with guided field trips to the county’s biodiverse shores, beautiful West Lake, and rare dunes and marshes.
The weekend will feature two keynote presentations. Dr. Brock Fenton will present the fascinating and fundamental role of bats in our ecosystem. Ontario Nature will discuss our campaign to protect 17 percent of Ontario’s lands and inland waters by 2020.
