Virtual Tour of Ontario Nature’s Gananoque Lake Nature Reserve
October 7 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Ontario Nature is excited to be teaming up with Quest Nature Tours to take you to some of Ontario’s most spectacular nature hot spots.
Join expert biologist James Kamstra for a virtual tour of Ontario Nature’s newest property, the Gananoque Lake Nature Reserve. This area has become a special place of refuge for species that are rare elsewhere in Ontario.
During this live one-hour webinar, we will explore the 147-hectare nature reserve located in one of the most biodiverse regions in Canada. Ontario Nature’s conservation team has completed a full survey of the nature reserve and we are excited to show you what we have found.
We will send all registrants a recording of the webinar soon after. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
This webinar will be moderated by Justin Peter, Quest Nature Tours’ Director and Ontario Nature member.
More about James Kamstra: James has been an Ontario Nature member for 50 years and is currently serving on the Board of Directors. He is well-known in the Ontario naturalist and ecologist community as a highly accomplished field biologist. James is very familiar with the flora and fauna of the Frontenac Arch that includes Gananoque Lake. He once worked as an interpretive naturalist at Thousand Islands National Park, then years later conducted a herpetofaunal inventory there. He also has conducted life science inventories and wetland evaluations in this part of the province. James has already had the chance to investigate the new Gananoque Lake Nature Reserve and is looking forward to telling you about some of the special features and species that are found there, including the endangered Cerulean Warbler and the provincially rare Arrow Arum.
