October is pawpaw month, and the 2024 Pawpaw Parade is here to celebrate this beautiful native tree and largest native fruit.

This year, Carolinian Canada is helping 500 pawpaw trees return to the landscape through the month of October. We have partnered with 26+ groups and organizations to host the parade in their communities across the Carolinian Zone. Throughout the parade, pawpaws will be donated, given away, and sold to participants who want to grow healthy landscapes and restore this special tree.

How can you participate?

Register your garden for free on the In the Zone (ITZ) Tracker and submit your story through the Pawpaw Parade module for a chance to win a pair of pawpaw trees! Pawpaw recipients are chosen based on the story submitted.

Each year, the Pawpaw Parade gifts pawpaw trees to Indigenous communities across the Carolinian Zone. Carolinian Canada is committed to supporting Indigenous communities and groups from previous years as well as building new relationships in the spirit and practice of reconciliation.
