Indigenous Land Trust Sharing Circle
Do you identify as Indigenous? We’re excited to invite you to a virtual gathering on Monday, March 17th, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm, to connect, share, and strengthen relationships within the Indigenous land trust community. This Sharing Circle will be facilitated by Clarence Cachagee and will be co-hosted by Becky Big Canoe of Mno Aki Land Trust. It will build on last year’s session at OLTA’s Annual Gathering.
The Ontario Land Trust Alliance is excited to welcome you to our Indigenous Land Trust Sharing Circle— a virtual gathering to connect, share, and strengthen relationships within the Indigenous land trust community. This Sharing Circle builds on the knowledge exchange from last year’s session at OLTA’s Annual Gathering. This time, we are creating a dedicated space outside the conference to continue these important conversations and deepen our connections.
Our goal is to hear directly from Indigenous land trust leaders about their experiences—successes, challenges, and what supports would be most valuable to advance their work. Discussions may include:
- The purpose and activities of Indigenous-led land trusts in Ontario
- Barriers and opportunities in land trust management
- How we can collaborate to strengthen Indigenous land stewardship
- How OLTA can take steps to improve its program delivery to support Indigenous land stewardship
- Future sharing circles, research, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
This sharing circle is intended primarily for Indigenous land trust and community members to share their voices, with non-Indigenous attendees joining as observers only to ensure a safe, respectful space. We look forward to connecting with you and learning together as we move forward on this important journey.
