Habitat restoration planting event at Sydenham River Nature Reserve
October 2 - October 3
About this event
Join Ontario Nature’s expert biologists to learn about agricultural restoration at the Sydenham River Nature Reserve! Volunteers will assist in native tree and shrub planting.
You can join us for the morning, afternoon, or all day! We are planting 900 plants over two weekends to transform fields into what will one day grow to Carolinian forest habitat.
Please bring a refillable bottle, wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Please try to bring your own gloves, trowels and reusable masks. Ontario Nature will provide hand sanitizer, wipes and masks for those who need them. Please bring your own lunch and Ontario Nature will provide snacks.
Our Sydenham River Nature Reserve is located approximately 60km southwest of London in the Lake Erie Lowlands region. Take Highway 401 West toward London, Ontario. Merge onto Highway 402 W following signs for Sarnia. Take exit 82 for Glendon Drive/County Road 14 W toward Mount Brydges. Turn right onto Dundonald Rd/County Rd 80. Turn right onto Buttonwood Drive and drive to the end of the road.
