H.N. Crossley Nature Reserve Trail Opening

Due to Covid-19 restrictions we will be limiting our group sizes and ask that you please register by Thursday, October 14th, 2021.
Covid-19 Protocols: Please bring hand sanitizer and a mask. Note that there may be times where you will not be able to maintain a 6ft distance from others. Therefore, we require that all participants wear masks at all times for everyone’s safety. We will be adhering to provincial and local health guidelines and will go ahead with this event only if it’s safe to do so. Thank you for your understanding.
Directions: Take Highway 632 south from the town of Rosseau. Approximately eight kilometers south of Rosseau, take a left onto Burgess Road. The reserve is located approximately three kilometers down this road, on the south (right) side just past Walkers Road on the left.
Terrain: Made of crushed gravel, this accessible trail leads to a lookout platform over the bog and the surrounding Provincially Significant Wetland.
Clothing: Please wear closed toed shoes and long pants.
Washrooms: There are no washroom facilities on site.
Food and drink: Please bring your own refillable water bottle. Snacks and water will be provided by Ontario Nature.
- 11:00-11:30am: Registration
- 11:30-12:00pm: Welcome
- 12:00-1:00pm: 130-metre wheelchair- accessible hike led by Al Sinclair (Muskoka Field Naturalists)
