George G. Newton Nature Reserve Trail Opening

Join Ontario Nature and Huron Bruce Nature in celebrating the grand opening of the George G. Newton Nature Reserve Trail. The newly improved trail now features gentler gradients, making it more accessible to visitors.
Guides will lead you along the revitalized trail system, offering a unique opportunity to experience the enhanced network while learning about the diverse flora and fauna that call the nature reserve home.
Friends and family are warmly invited to join in this special event.

Accessibility Considerations: We aim to make this event inclusive for all participants. If you have any accessibility concerns, please indicate them on the registration form.
Food and drink: Please bring your own refillable water bottle. Light snacks and water will be provided by Ontario Nature.
Clothing: Please wear closed-toed shoes and long pants. We will be going ahead with the tour rain or shine so please dress accordingly.
Washrooms: Washrooms will be available on site.
Directions and Parking: Take highway 8 to Porter’s Hill Line (a business called Maitland Market and Supply is located on this corner). Turn south on Porter’s Hill Line (also called the 6th Concession) and proceed to Kitchigami Road (the third intersection). Turn east onto Kitchigami Road and the nature reserve will be approximately 200m past the intersection on the south side of Kitchigami Road. The property is marked by a sign and civic address marker number 35913.
When registering please select a ticket for only one of the hikes, they will run simultaneously. There is no need to print your ticket, we will have an attendee list when you come to register.
