Vi and Colin Bain
Vi and Colin Bain have a special love for Manitoulin Island and the north shore of Lake Huron. For the retired schoolteachers who live just outside Guelph, the decision to leave a bequest to Ontario Nature evolved out of their love of the province and its natural beauty.

Rosemary Speirs
Rosemary Speirs has served on the Ontario Nature Board of Directors since 2001. She is a retired journalist who wrote nationally syndicated political columns for The Toronto Star, first a columnist on provincial politics at Queen's Park and then as national affairs columnist in Ottawa. She has been a feature writer and commentator, specializing in Canadian politics at the provincial and federal levels, including environmental policy.

The Quiet Naturalist: Mrs. Julyan Mulock
Mrs. Julyan Mulock’s generosity and care for her beloved Falconbridge property have helped ensure that it will be protected forever.

This 120-hectare property in Newmarket, on the edge of the Oak Ridges Moraine, was donated to Ontario Nature in 2003. Mrs. Mulock made the donation on behalf of herself and her late husband, Canadian-born painter Cawthra Falconbridge Mulock. The property is the largest single land donation Ontario Nature has received in its 73-year history. Mrs. Mulock passed away in late June, 2005.
