A Gift of Land

You can leave a legacy...for nature, forever. Many of the properties in Ontario Nature's nature reserve system are special gifts from people who had a desire to protect a special piece of nature they owned.

The present nature reserve system has been built by properties given to Ontario Nature to safeguard forever, and by properties purchased with funds donated through bequests.

Ontario Nature's Nature Reserves

  • Given by people who love nature
  • Cared for by people who love nature
  • Owned forever by members of Ontario Nature.

We're expanding!

Ontario Nature aims to acquire additional properties to strategically expand its nature reserve system. Your gift of land or the funds to manage and expand the nature reserve system will protect species at risk, provincially imperiled habitats and globally recognized sites.

You can help build Ontario Nature's nature reserve system in a variety of ways:

  • Become an Ontario Nature member and support efforts to care for nature;
  • Make a bequest of ecologically significant land or the funds to purchase land;
  • Participate in hands-on projects to restore habitats and protect species at risk with the Ontario Nature Volunteers;
  • Protect your own lands through private stewardship options such as conservation easements.

Find out how you can contribute to Ontario Nature's nature reserve system by contacting Ontario Nature's Conservation Science Manager, at (416) 444-8419 / 1 800 440-2366 ext. 264.
